Chaperone Training in General Practice
The course takes approximately 45–60 minutes to complete, depending on individual learning pace, and concludes with a final knowledge assessment and certificate of completion.
This online course is designed for clinical and non-clinical staff working in general practice who may be asked to act as a chaperone during examinations, procedures or sensitive consultations.
It provides a practical overview of the chaperone’s role and responsibilities, including consent, dignity, privacy, confidentiality, professional boundaries, safeguarding, documentation and how to recognise and respond to concerns.
Learners will work through realistic scenarios to help apply the guidance to everyday practice and build confidence in undertaking the chaperone role safely and professionally.
The course concludes with a final knowledge assessment and certificate of completion.
